Natural Movement in Nature is a program designed for outdoor enthusiasts and athletes of all ranges. Whether you enjoy hiking, track and field, trail running, climbing, football, baseball, volleyball or any other active movement sport, this program helps you learn key best practices for fundamental movements and coordination! Each session is thoughtfully designed as a standalone experience, allowing participants the flexibility to join any class without prior attendance. Natural Movement in Nature is held Saturdays at 7 am in the Carriage House at Wellness Arts Center, 200 Lake Avenue, Montrose, Pa. The first class begins Saturday, May 10 and ends Sunday, June 28. Price: $15 per class or $50 for 4 classes.
Over the course of 8 weeks, your instructor, Chris Hoppe founder of Backwoods Movement Sports Wellness will guide you through a comprehensive 60-minute regimen that focuses on learning how to heighten your mobility and flexibility and improve your dynamic range of motion. Each class will utilize both the indoor studio space and the adjacent outdoor area, adapting to the environment to enhance the movement experience.
Natural Movement in Nature is designed to be inclusive and adaptable, catering to all ages and skill levels. With personalized attention participants will gain confidence and physical readiness to take their game and outdoor experience to new heights! There is a price break if you take part in the entire series, or you are welcome to take individual sessions.
Chris studied physical and health education at West Virginia University and worked at a prestigious golf course in West Viriginia. Working full time in the golf industry, he discovered MovNat, a natural movement physical education system that transformed his world. He began training in this style of functional fitness and pursued certifications, becoming a Level 2 MovNat Certified Trainer. This is a holistic approach to fitness that emphasizes the importance of moving our bodies in ways that are instinctive and functional.
Chris started Backwoods MSW with a clear purpose: to help people rediscover the freedom and confidence that movement brings. “Modern life has disconnected us from the way we’re meant to move, eat, and live,” he explains. “Backwoods MSW was born from a desire to change that—to help people feel strong, free, and in sync with themselves again.”
